"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."
How many of us do exactly that? We let fears, uncertainties, doubts and insecurities cloud our visions and dreams, to the point where we don't even know what they are, or even if we ever had any in the first place. Life becomes a depressing and frustrating prison.
We are meant for more...far more
I've found that most people want to grow: They want to know what their gifts and passions are, how and where they can use them best, and how they can continue to develop most fully into the unique individuals God created them to be. Life coaching can be an important part of that process of discovery and confirmation for you.
Dr. Gary Collins puts it simply: A life coach "comes alongside to guide others through life's challenges and helps them move forward with confidence in the midst of change." The change part is where most folks get stuck. Even thinking about change-- and I mean practically any kind of change-- can send many people into a panic. Fear is the poison that feeds it.
Life coaching is not therapy or an automatic answer machine. It is generally a short- term process of discovery, challenge, brainstorming and movement toward greater fulfillment in a desired area. This takes honesty, courage and commitment. But the result of freeing up that logjam in your life can be exhilarating.
"Being defeated is often only a temporary condition.
Giving up is what makes it permanent."
